The information appears to be several years old, but it is another example of the huge amount of information collected by Facebook and other social media sites — and the limits of their ability to keep it secure.Business Insider was the first to report on the data being available, saying that it includes information on people from 106 countries, with phone numbers, Facebook IDs, full names, locations, birthdates and email addresses.Business Insider said it checked some of the data with known users’ phone numbers and IDs, and found that it was accurate.Facebook has had problems with data security for years. In 2018, the company stopped allowing users to search for each other using phone numbers after it was found that the company Cambridge Analytica had accessed information on up to 87 million Facebook users without their knowledge or consent.
